I just read something about this (though not so specific with the stores/rebranding names) in a business magazine.
I agree that “The Shack” and “The Hut” aren’t exactly the most appealing names!!
And serious – SyFy?!?! I’d never heard of the switch, but can’t say that I like it either!!

Well thought out and written.
I absolutely despise the SyFy rebranding. Sci-Fi is SO much better.
I can’t say too much though because I never really watch that channel.
The Hut? really … why take Jabba’s last name?
Probably not what they intended.. but Jabba was the first thing I thought of and I am not a huge Star Wars geek. (just a medium to large one
I also do now want anything hi-tech that I buy to come from a shack.
